How do I create the Black Pearl Ecaille look?

The Cut:

Step 1: Define your side parting and then create a vertical section from the top of the head to halfway at the ear. Section the fringe area into two sections from the hat line of the head. Cut both sides with 90 degrees angle. Work square to create a long undercut. This creates less weight and rounds the hair. Repeat the same to the opposite side.

Step 2: Take a rounded section from the hairline and cut the fringe – starting from the center. Work towards each ear using minimum elevation, cutting with the natural fall. Proceed with the same technique taking ever-decreasing sections to over the top of the head, slightly over-directed to the longest point towards the wear to avoid graduation.

Tip: To add body to the hair, create a light texturising cutting lotion by diluting EIMI Body Crafter with some water. Use your customised lotion all the way through the haircut, to keep the hair wet and easy to manage.

The Colour:

Tip: Before starting to colour, use EIMI Dry Me to create an antistatic effect: This enables easier and more precise sectioning. Section off an oval shape on top of the head.

Step 1: Starting at the front fringe below the oval section. Work in back to back slices to create a shine line on the mid lengths and ends. Repeat this on the front side sections. Apply only to mid-lengths and ends. Use the Climazon during the development time. Rinse off, shampoo and neutralise with Blondor Seal & Care Post Treatment.

Step 2: After drying the hair, apply Colour A to the top oval section, followed by back-to-back slicing on the pre-lightened fringe using Colour B.

Step 3: To create your Black Pearl effect: On either side apply Colour A on the roots, and Colour B on the pre-lightened lengths and ends. Colour all of the remaining hair with Colour A.

The Styling:
