Discover the trend look below and learn how to create this beautiful multi-tonal rose gold hair colour yourself with our Ecaille technique tutorial.
How do I create the Rose Gold Ecaille look?
Step 1: Use EIMI Perfect Me as a cutting lotion to optimise the hair. Customise your own lotion by adding some EIMI Perfect Me into your water spray. This will nourish the hair throughout the lengths. Remember to spray the hair often to keep it wet. Section the head into four sections. Start to cut the first section with a slightly curved line and no elevation, working with the natural fall. Working one side first, comb the hair from the natural fall towards the longest point, then continue the process up.
Step 2: Apply pressure to the natural fall of the hair. Continue the curve line through the side, using your guideline from the back – combing with the natural fall to avoid any graduation.
Tip: While cutting the side, press your scissors above the ear – this will pull the pressure to the natural fall of the hair.
Step 3: Wet the hair with your personalised cutting lotion then proceed with the same technique on the other side. Finish the front area following the same guidelines.
Step 1: Take a 3cm section from either side of the parting using wavy lines at the top of the head. Then create five rectangles around this area. Pre-Lighten by freehand technique, starting at the back with diagonal sections. Work with irregular patterns in the lengths and ends to create an Ecaille effect.
Step 2: At the fringe area and side, apply in the middle of the hair only – to create an asymmetrical effect towards the front. This will create a different and stronger Ecaille effect. Leave the top section free for the three dimensional effect. Once the desired level of lift is achieved, rinse.
Step 3: Recreate the 3cm section over the parting. Start at the crown and apply Colour A at the roots and Colour B on the lengths to ends. Continue as previously with a diagonal section to follow the Ecaille effect. Follow the same routine on the top wave on either side – and lastly on the top section. Develop under the Climazon for 20 minutes.
Step 1: Blow-dry the hair with a Sahira hair dryer and a flat brush – then apply Wella Professionals Oil Reflections for additional shine.
Step 2: Work with Wella Professionals Pro Curl to create moment.
Tip: While cutting the sides, press your scissors above the ear – this will pull the pressure to the natural fall of hair.
Step 3: Gently remove the clips from the curls, brush through to smoothen and finish styling with your fingers.
What will my colour look like?
Use Blondor Seal and Care Post Treatment after Blondor service. It is specifically formulated for lightened hair neutralising pH-value and giving blondes great shine. Finish with a drop of Wella Professionals Oil Reflections.

EIMI Perfect Me BB Lotion will prefect the texture without weighing down the hair and giving the feeling of having products in it – as well as illuminating the Rose Gold colour. You can use it on wet and dry hair. EIMI Thermal Image will protect the hair against the heat of any hot tool. EIMI Dynamic Fix, a flexible hair spray allows you to keep the flexibility of the hair while curling without having too much hold. This will enable a natural yet shaped effect to be kept.
