1. Ready, steady, retail!
Christmas is the busiest time of year in the salon, and with all those clients coming through the door it is the perfect time to make the most of your retail area and make some extra profit. Be sure that your shelves are fully stocked with Christmas gift packs to catch their attention, and that all of the products are clearly labelled up with prices (some customers feel awkward asking!).
2. Loyalty sells
If you’re having a late night opening evening with mince pies and mulled wine, or you’re running special offers on the run-up to Christmas, make sure you tell all your loyal customers about it first! It sounds obvious, but keeping your important clients in the loop will make them feel like a valued customer and keep them loyal to your salon.
3. Create a buzz
After a busy December in the salon, January can feel like a bit of an anti-climax. So why not hand out special discounts to every customer who visits in December, to encourage them back in January? Or, what about hosting a demonstration day where you can show clients what new treatments you have available in the salon? What better way to sell a new service than showing the client exactly what it can do!
4. Teamwork!
Having your staff 100% on board during the busy festive season is an absolute must! Keep them sweet with incentives and bonuses if they help to drive more sales, and why not offer a team reward if you achieve a salon target? A group meal out or a spa treatment can be great motivation for your staff to work hard!
5. Lead them into temptation!
With so many new potential clients walking past your salon, now is the perfect time to dress your window to impress! Always have a price list in the window, but make sure that you’re promoting your special offers too – the party season is the best time to launch treatment packages and get new clients on board!
