How did your salon begin?

I started in the industry at 17, renting a chair in a local salon, and from the very first day I knew I wanted a space to call my own.

Eventually, I set up in a small room inside a local gym. It was just big enough for me and one of the girls who still works with me today.

I always had a bigger vision though. That drive pushed me to grow, and now I have a team of 8 amazing girls.

Together we work in what truly feels like my dream salon. It has been a journey, but I know there is still more to come.

What was your initial inspiration for starting your salon?

The inspiration came from seeing how salons bring people together. It is not just about hair or beauty.

It is about the energy, the atmosphere, and the relationships that are built in that space.

I wanted to create somewhere that was more than just a salon. It had to feel warm, welcoming, and empowering. A place full of personality.

How did you decide on the design of your salon?

I had a clear vision of the look and feel I wanted. I worked with an interior designer who helped bring my ideas together.

From the colour palette to the layout and finishing touches, I wanted the space to reflect my style while being functional and welcoming for clients.

It was important to me that it felt unique and personal. I am so proud of how it turned out.

What are some of your favourite products and tools to use in your salon?

One of my favourites is The Gel Bottle polish. The colours are stunning, the quality is fantastic, and it lasts so well on clients. I love how smooth the application is. It makes the process easier and the results always look flawless.

I also use their BIAB, which has become a staple for stronger, healthier nails. Alongside that, I rely on good quality brushes and files. The right tools really do make all the difference.

How do you stand out from your competitors?

For us, it is all about the experience. It is not just the treatments. From the moment clients arrive, they walk into a fun and friendly space where everyone feels comfortable.

We offer a wide range of services from nails and hair to beauty and permanent makeup.

Everything is carried out by a passionate team that cares about results. We also stay up to date with the latest trends and techniques which keeps things exciting.

What do you think makes a successful salon?

A successful salon is built on atmosphere, teamwork, and the client experience. It is about making people feel welcome, comfortable, and confident from the moment they step through the door.

Having a supportive and passionate team is a huge part of that.

Consistency, detail, and quality products are key too, but creating a space people enjoy coming back to is what matters most.

How do you keep up to date with the latest industry trends?

The beauty industry is always evolving, so staying inspired is really important. I attend regular training courses, follow industry leaders on social media, and keep an eye on trends locally and globally.

Our team also shares ideas with each other which is great for creativity.

Whether it is a new nail design, a trending hairstyle, or an innovative treatment, we love trying new things so our clients always get the best.

What advice would you give to others wanting to open a salon?

My biggest advice is to trust your gut and stay true to your vision. It is a lot of hard work, but if you are passionate and clear on what you want, it is so worth it. Build the right team around you because people who share your values make a huge difference.

Do not be afraid to invest in help, especially with the business side of things. And focus on offering more than just treatments. Create an experience that people love coming back to.

Can you share a memorable experience that shaped the way you run your salon today?

Before starting my salon, I worked in a call centre. It was an environment where people felt like a number and there was no real care. That stuck with me. It made me determined to create something completely different.

I wanted a salon that felt inclusive, welcoming, and genuinely happy. Somewhere both staff and clients feel valued and comfortable.

What can we expect from your salon business in 2025 and beyond?

We are excited to keep growing and evolving. Clients can expect new and innovative services, and we plan to expand our team with more talented professionals.

The focus will always stay on offering a welcoming, fun, and high-quality experience that leaves clients feeling amazing every time they visit.
