DROP IT: WHY and WHAT is it good for?
DROP IT was an idea that derived from many unsuccessful attempts of using at home hair dyes. After working in the creative industry for years, a home hair colourant was a frequent purchase of Creative Director’s Jenna to get herself ready for a big event or festival. However, after many unsuccessful transformations, frustrated in the results and feeling guilty from the waste of plastic purchased, Jenna decided to consult her hair stylist.
Jenna turned to her hair stylist to express the frustration of the product but also why she has not come out with the desired result she wanted. Her stylist informed her of the ongoing battle industry professionals face when clients take to home hair kits and the continuous cycle of ‘fixing’ the mess.
This is what formed DROP IT.
For many stylists, it is their goal to maintain their clients hair in the best condition whilst providing them with the dreamiest results and for most, the creative aspect is always exciting. SHRINE wanted to design a product which would bring that creativity and excitement back into hair, whilst allowing the client and stylist to work together on ensuring they can have salon quality hair.
