Each month, we love to shine a spotlight on salons that blend exceptional design with a unique ethos and this time, we’re heading to Glasgow to visit Serenity Hair and Beauty, a welcoming and vibrant space that brings together expert treatments, genuine connection, and a whole lot of fun.
We caught up with salon owner, Lynne Scally, to find out more about what makes Serenity such a standout spot in the Scottish beauty scene.
How did Serenity Hair and Beauty begin?
Serenity opened its doors in June 2025, born from Lynne’s vision of creating a salon that was more than just about treatments it was about community. With over 15 years of experience as a qualified beauty therapist, Lynne dreamed of a place where clients could relax, enjoy themselves, and build genuine connections.
“I wanted to create something that felt different where clients are more like friends,” Lynne shares. “You come in for a treatment, but you leave feeling uplifted. And maybe even singing karaoke!”
From nails and hair to facials, laser treatments, and advanced cosmetics, Serenity offers a full spectrum of services with a fun, feel-good twist.

What inspired your salon’s design?
With a name like Serenity, the aesthetic had to match the mood. Lynne aimed for a calm and cosy space, with warm lighting, soft colours, and thoughtful touches to create a relaxing yet professional vibe.
“We wanted people to feel at home somewhere that’s clean, comfortable, and inviting. But also fun! There’s a light-hearted energy here that clients really love.”
The salon’s sleek yet snug interior is brought together with key pieces like the Lotus Darcy Black Backwash Unit and Lotus Darcy Hydraulic Styling Chair, helping to merge practicality with luxury..

What services and products do you offer?
Serenity is truly a one-stop destination for beauty and wellness, offering:
- Advanced facials using the highly regarded Katherine Daniels skincare line.
- Gel nails with bold, long-lasting finishes from The GelBottle inc.
- Bespoke hair styling and colouring.
- Lashes, brows, microblading, and lip blush artistry.
- Laser hair removal, tattoo removal, and carbon facials for skin rejuvenation.
“We’re about giving people real results with top-tier tools but always in an environment that’s welcoming and positive,” says Lynne.

What makes Serenity stand out?
While the treatments are expert-level, it’s the atmosphere that sets Serenity apart. It’s a space where everyone from first-timers to long-time clients feels like they belong.
“We’ve had people tell us they used to dread going to salons,” Lynne shares. “But here, it’s different. You’re greeted with warmth, maybe a glass of bubbly, and often a good laugh.”
It’s that balance of professionalism and personality that keeps clients coming back.
What advice would you give to aspiring salon owners?
“Know your ‘why’ and don’t lose sight of it,” Lynne advises. “Passion is essential, but so is patience. Build your brand on trust and authenticity not trends.”
She also stresses the importance of connection: “Clients remember how you made them feel. It’s not just the treatment it’s the care, the conversation, the consistency.”

What’s next for Serenity Hair and Beauty?
With an incredible launch year behind them, the Serenity team has big plans for 2025 and beyond. Expect new treatment offerings, seasonal promotions, and deeper involvement with the local community.
“We’re just getting started,” Lynne says. “The goal is to keep growing, but always stay true to what makes Serenity special: real connection, expert care, and good vibes all around.”
