Whether you’re looking to expand your existing salon services or you are simply refreshing your knowledge, in this guide, we share everything you need to know about the different lash curls, including how to consider the right lash curl shape for your client based on their eye shape and the desired effect.
What are the different types of lash curls?
False lash extensions are available in several curl types named after a letter, such as ‘C curl lashes’ or ‘D curl lashes’. As you can see from the image below, the 'type' of lash, i.e. D, C, B, L refers to the prominence of the curl.

What is a B curl lash?
B curl lashes provide a subtle uplift and look like natural eyelashes curled using a manual eyelash curler.
The B curl lash offers a gentle lift to the lashes without creating an overly dramatic or pronounced effect. Individuals who desire a more subtle enhancement to their natural lashes often choose the B curl.

What is a D curl lash?

What is an L curl lash?
An L-curl eyelash is a type of eyelash extension style that is designed to create a dramatic and lifted effect on the eyes. It is named "L curl" because the shape of the lash extension resembles the letter "L" when viewed from the side.
The L curl differs from other lash extension curls, such as the C curl, in terms of its curvature and lift. It has a more pronounced curl that starts closer to the base of the lash and then straightens out slightly towards the tip, creating an L-shaped angle. This shape helps to open up the eyes and provide a wide-eyed, doe-like appearance.

1. Classic Lashes
Classic lashes create longer, thicker lashes that look and feel like your own. The technique uses fine lashes that enable the therapist to attach one lash extension per lash.
Treatment time: A complete set can take anything between 1 to 2 hours and a half set of 1 hour to create.
2. Russian Lashes
Russian lashes offer beautiful, full-volume, feathery lashes. The technique uses ultra-fine, lightweight lashes that enable the therapist to attach anywhere between 2-6 lash extensions per lash, thereby boosting the volume of each lash.
Treatment time: A full set can take 90 minutes to 2 hours.

Eyelash application process tips
Consultation
Begin each lash journey with a detailed consultation, considering the client's eye shape and natural lash health. Also, take the time to understand your client's expectations, preferences, and concerns. Doing so will help you identify which lash curls & lengths to apply and tailor the lash style to ensure a satisfied client.
Prep & Prime
Before application, ensure the client's lashes are cleansed and free from any residue or makeup. Use a gentle cleanser to remove any oils or debris to ensure a clean surface. For optimal adhesive bond strength. You can also apply under-eye pads to protect your clients lower lashes.
Adhesive Selection
Choose a high-quality adhesive that provides a strong bond while ensuring client comfort. Consider factors like drying time, fume level, and sensitivity to ensure a positive experience for your clients.
Application
Apply each individual synthetic lash to the client's natural lashes using precise and careful placement. Ensure proper isolation of each lash to prevent stickies and ensure a seamless, natural look. Remember, attention to detail is key!
Aftercare tips for your clients
Once you've finished your client's lash set, it's important to give them proper aftercare instructions to help their lash extensions stay healthy, last longer, and maintain their quality.
Here are some aftercare suggestions:
- Encourage gentle cleansing of the eye area, using a lash-friendly cleanser or foam to remove makeup and debris.
- Advise against using oil-based products, including mascara and waterproof eyeliner, near and on the lashes, as they can weaken the adhesive bond.
- Emphasise the importance of daily night-time cleansing and brushing of the lashes with a clean spoolie to prevent dirt from building up on the lashes and promote a polished look.
- Accentuate that clients should not pick at or pull on the lash extensions as this can cause damage to both the extensions and natural lash.

We recommend the following guidelines when it comes to choosing the right thickness. Lash extensions are available in a range of thicknesses from 0.03mm to 0.25mm. You can also choose from a range of lengths from 4mm to 15mm.

- Fine 0.10 - Ideal for a natural lash look.
